bluegrass equine photography, Laura Palazzolo

I have loved horses since before I can remember and I have loved photography since my father gave me my first camera as a child. The two are my passion, my go to happy place. Nothing in the world makes me happier and I love capturing the grace, strength and beauty of horses and furthering the appreciation of them in all aspects of their life. I studied photojournalism at Ohio University and have a degree in visual communications from The Art Institute of Philadelphia. In addition to my photography, I have over 20 years experience as a graphic designer. Having recently moved to Kentucky I have been exposed to Thoroughbred and racing, I am thoroughly enjoying learning about the sport and how to best capture the amazing athletes that race from action shots to conformation. This past spring I was lucky enough to intern with Matt and Wendy Wooley where I learned the finer points of conformation photos and racing. Most of my work consists of what I love to do and love to be around- animals. I take anywhere from sunset shots, action shots of animals running around, conformation pictures of horses and the bond between a person and an animal.
